Why I'm Voting for Abdul El-Sayed

Why I'm Voting for Abdul El-Sayed

Throughout this 2018 Michigan gubernatorial race, I have been very vocal about my support for Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed. By consequence, I have been questioned over and over again as to why I am such a fan of his. I want to let everyone know, once and for all, why the first vote I ever cast will be proudly in support of Abdul El-Sayed.

I am voting for Abdul because he is the best candidate in the race. I am voting for Abdul because we don't need another establishment hack like Gretchen Whitmer, Brian Calley or Bill Schuette in office. I am voting for Abdul because I am tired of fake, phony progressives like Shri Thanedar, who almost ran as a Republican, attended Marco Rubio rallies, and now, amazingly, claims to be the most progressive candidate in the race. I am voting for Abdul because we need a unifier in office- not a divider like Patrick Colbeck.

I am voting for Abdul because the residents of Flint need clean water. I am voting for Abdul because I believe that everyone deserves healthcare regardless of ability to pay. I am voting for Abdul because he is uncorrupted- he accepts no corporate money whatsoever. Rather, he believes in a government by the people, for the people. I am voting for Abdul because I believe our youth need a robust public school system so that they can prosper and flourish. I am voting for Abdul because I am tired of driving on crumbling roads through broken down cities. Abdul wants to invest heavily in infrastructure and rebuild Michigan into a state we can once again be proud of. I am voting for Abdul because he has a comprehensive and realistic plan to tackle the wildly destructive opioid epidemic that has struck Michigan especially hard. I am voting for Abdul because we need positive change. I am voting for Abdul because he is fighting for us.

I am voting for Abdul because it's the right thing to do. I am voting for the next Governor of Michigan- and you should too!
